The “New” Kid on the Block: Meyer Lemons

April 20, 2012

When life throws you lemons make lemonade! We’ve all heard this expression before. Yet my husband’s recent trip to the grocery store led us to discover yet a new lemon, the “Meyer” lemon. It is a cross between a lemon and mandarin orange, making it less acidic and sweeter in taste. A little research explains that this fruit was native to China yet in 1908 it got introduced to the US by an agricultural explorer Mr. Frank Meyer.

So, when life throws you lemons spice it up with the Meyer lemons!
